Promote Horsemanship
Our Mission is to develop a strong partnership between horse and rider, as well as a sense of understanding between the two. There is no substitute for a thorough understanding of riding knowledge and horse care, and we strive to teach our students new elements of these topics every time they take a lesson.
Note from the Trainer:
"I have always thought it was essential to a rider to not only learn how to ride--but to also learn general horse care: grooming, tacking, horse-health, the works. After all, what is the sense in learning how to ride if you can't put your own saddle on? Being around horses is about so much more than just riding--it is about building a relationship with an animal and then preparing to conquer goals together. All of my students learn these things, and are taught to groom and tack, amongst other things free of charge. They truly learn the responsibility from the experience, and that riding isn't the only fun part!" --- Jillian Simon
Promote Safety
Our Mission is to keep riders and horses as safe as possible, at all times. Riders will be taught safety rules and ways to prevent and avoid harm when involved with horses. Riders are also taught how to deal effectively with unsafe situations that can sometimes occur while around horses.
Provide Solid Training
Our Mission is to promote solid, firm training, without using unnecessary force to get what we want from horses. We use the idea of making the "wrong thing hard, and the right thing easy" to make commands and movements simple for horses to understand. Overall, we want horses to progress quickly and finish as enjoyable companions to their riders--whether they are a sale horse
looking for a future companion, or whether they just need some tuning up!
